OT: T-mobile cell coverage in your area

I currently have AT&T but am thinking of switching to t-mobile due to their overseas data and phone coverage. However, I've heard that T-mobile coverage in the US isn't very good. Can anyone chime in on this? Any t-mobile customers here? Danke shön.

I had T-Mobil about three years ago and hated it. Coverage was sparse at that time. AT&T isn't the best but when in the LTE cells, the connection is excellent.

I'd stick with AT&T.

I have it. It sucks. I travel a bit for work and always have two identical phones when traveling. My personal and my work. My tmobil phone craps out a bunch, my Verizon work phone always works. Both iPhone5's. I will be dumping them soon.

Really depends where you live. In the DC area is decent. But for instance when I visit relatives in central FL it really sucks.

Philadelphia area is good. I had some recent issues in less populated areas on AZ, but I think that could be an issue with most carriers.

I switched to TMobile a few years ago and cut my family plan rate by 40%. The coverage in urban areas is ok and along most major highways. Not so great in rural areas. I bought a Verizon flip phone that takes cash cards for those times - i.e. gravel grinders, long distance point to point rides, camping, etc.

TMobile works great in the lower half of Michigan's lower peninsula, Orlando, Florida and Israel.

Pretty good coverage in Seattle but that is where their US HQ is so they will make sure to cover their home turf.

I'll be living in PDX by the summer. Palisades section of Lake Oswego to be more precise. Hoping that it's good coverage there. Half the month, I'll be flying to European countries and I know it works well in Europe. Plus, unlimited 4G LTE data with no throttling.

Anyone get good results in PDX with t-mobile?

I had T-Mobile for 7-8 years until a couple of years ago. I had not problem with it while in big cities. It was fine in Seattle and was fine in NYC. I was paying nothing for it. $60 unlimited everything it was great.

When we travelled the connection was abismal. We drove cross country 3 times that year and my wife would have perfect connection (Verizon) and either 4g or an Internet connection and I was roaming with no internet connection. But we are talking in the middle of nowhere, usually there was a connection but more times than not the Internet was on 2g or gprs. I think that might have changed a bit though.

We switched to Verizon on family plan because she didn't want to leave Verizon. It's been great, you do pay more but much better service. If it was for me though I would be still saving money on T-Mobile.
