Campagnolo flat bar shifters

I am researching for a friend that wants his 10 speed Campy drivetrain and some upright flat bars after a neck surgery. I have found these.

Anyone have experience making this work or used anything like this?

I had a set. they work really well but found them a little clunky. Basically they inverted the regular ones, even the insides are similar to 10 speed but for example the return mechanism was designed to work in a regular position brifter, thats why IMO they felt clunky.

I had the chorus ones.

The campy manuals says that you need a FB FD, doubt it is true because I used the FB FD with regular brifters and never got a single issue with the shifting.

I remember when those came out. I think you need a special flat bar front derailleur (marked FB), but everything else is the same. They might have made versions with different cable pulls because they also had vee brakes available at the time.

That's correct, the flat bar shifters were made in two versions, one labeled for "caliper" brakes, and labeled for "linear pull" brakes. The caliper brake version could be used with sidepull calipers or cantilever brakes, and the linear pull version obviously is intended for linear pull brakes (aka "V-brakes"). The web page in the OP's post indicates that they are the caliper version.

Ive used these with a regular fd np, but perhaps campy issued a special fd for them dunno but one doesn't need it.

They look rather nice in that catalogue pic but in reality they don't look very campyesque imo. Just rather chunky looking and the brake levers look out of place and too large.

They however work very nicely, photo makes em look better than in reality .)

Strangely enough, they used a disc with two wee ball bearings inside a notched disc.....very similar to 2009 Ultrashift. Strange but true.

I have some on a soma, I feel like there is a lot of slop compared to the shimano flat bar shifters i am used to. If I had to do it again, I would do the thumbies and bar end shifters for Campy 10.
