Purpose of this section

Although it may seem obvious, but this section of the forum is for posting Serotta catalogs in electronic format. There are often questions that come up both on the forum and directly to Serotta...and hopefully having these catalogs on-line might be able to answer some of these questions.

This section is not for discussing the contents of the catalog and conversations of this nature will moved to the General Discussion section. However, it is okay to post a question or comment specifically about the catalog itself.

BTW, I know there are a number of websites that have cycling related catalogs and I would appreciate having this information posted in this message.

Thanks!
-Keith A

If anyone has any additional catalogs, I would love to add these to the collection. You can either post these yourself or get in contact with me and we can work something out.

This section rocks! I just talked to a potential customer last night who's still riding a TG from '92. A couple clicks, and there's the geometry chart.

Plus, I know some of those guys in the catalogs! I might even be in one or two of them!

As someone who knows and grew up with so many of the folks pictured i'd love a 'where are they now?' deal.

That photo brings back memories. It was a regular day and everyone was working and then all of a sudden I'm told we will be doing a photo shoot with the one single 20th Anniversary bike in existence in just a few minutes. OK.. that's cool. I was in full factory mode wearing very dirty shop clothes and a 3 day beard so one of the girls from the office ran out and bought some razors so I could clean up for the shoot. That and a borrowed shirt and I was ready to go.

The bike was not as ready. It was painted a custom mix color and it didn't come out quite right but it would be fine for the catalog shoot. I went to find it and it wasn't where I left it. I searched it down and found it in the paint shop and it had already begun to be stripped to be repainted. I walked in to find of the the paint guys scraping it down with a blade and just about came out of my skin. But it was only stripped on the one side so we could hold it at just the right angle and it looked fine.

The 3 of us then went across the street where there was a cool rock wall next to the river that we could use as a backdrop. We get there and the photographer gets us where he wants us for the best light and we all line up and something is wrong. Kelly and I all pretty tall - I'm 6'4" and Kelly must be at least 6'3" and Ben is not. With all all posed there he looked small. So we grabbed a big rock for him to stand on and we had our shot.

Glamorous stuff this life as a f-builder.

So I really do wonder what the old gang is doing. I think most have moved on and would love to know what they are doing.

Dave

Would it be a good idea to pin the threads in chronological order so they don't keep jumping all over the place and folks don't have to hunt?

More catalogs to come as soon as I get them from Smiley and scan them to PDF.

I need to know - is there a maximum size for files to be posted? I may have to adjust the settings or break catalogs into several files depending on constraints.

Agreed...and I have already thought about this. I'm just not sure how to do it. The only way I can come up that will really work is to sort by title since the catalogs won't necessarily be added in chronological order. I haven't checked to see if I can control the display order of the postings in a given section, but will look into it.

Update: I just checked and there doesn't seem to be an easy way to do this. I'll have to do some more digging.

Thanks for helping! I have currently set the maximum size for the PDFs to 10 MB, but this can be increased if necessary.

OK - Keith - here is what I will do. Once I have the files ready, I will email them to you and you can then add them as you see fit. Seems the best way to me.

So how does one figure out the year (and other details) of a given Serotta frame?

Perhaps we need a decoder ring for the various iterations of serial numbers over the years. That would go well with the catalog info.
