Thats usually what happens to them, and the hub tends to go 'fixed'

They need a very light lube (lighter than what you'd use in a DT hub) or else the plastic bushing can howl.

That's great to hear, especially since EXP hubs only have one spring instead of two pushing the ratchet through the grease to engage. Presumably it's a stronger spring, but this is a helpful data point. Thanks!
