Bay Area CX rides and clinics?

I just picked up a cross bike from a fellow Paceline member and I'm interested in sharpening my skills.

1. Does anyone have trail recommendations in the East Bay?

2. Are there are any clinics or recurring weekly CX rides where I could learn some basic skills? I'm a complete noob and would love to learn from folks who know what they're doing so I don't pick up bad habits.

Thanks!

If this is in the wrong section, perhaps a mod can move it!

Wednesday night at the lake Merritt bandstand next to fairyland... Usually 5:30-6:30 ish.. Cx hotlaps.
There are countless trails in sibley, Joaquin Miller, Redwood, and tilden that are CX appropriate.

Word, thanks for the info.

Does the Wednesday night session run year round? That's my only night off until the end of the year, but sounds like something I could get into if it's still going in January.
