Choosing the best spin bike for a beginner”

Hey guys!

Great discussions going on in the forum here and some solid advice!

I’ve set myself a budget of $150 for my first spin bike and am still not sure which one to get.

I’ve been reading some reviews on this site http://cardioboss.com/ and am considering the The Exerpeutic Folding Magnetic Upright Bike With Pulse or the Sunny Health & Fitness Pro Indoor Cycling Bike.

Does anyone here actually own either of these? What are your experiences?

Thanks,

Essi

Don't own either and haven't "ridden" them. From experience with stationary bikes of similar design, the Sunny Health is the better option for someone serous about cycling.

It looks like the key fitting adjustments on the SH are "pop pin", so you should be able to get relatively close to your ideal fit - depends on how close the pre-drilled hole slots are. The Exerpeutic is a disaster from a fit perspective. $150 is a confining price point in the world of stationary bikes for anything more than just "getting some cardio going".

Where R U located - anywhere near Long Island? http://newlondon.craigslist.org/spo/5828366544.html These are close to double your budget, but are good solid indoor cycles with infinite adjustment. Not sure what condition they're in. Worth checking. No data sensors on this model, but there are inexpensive ways to to add cadence/speed with standard chainstay/crank arm sensors. If you eventually want power measurement, add powermeter pedals and swap them between spin bike and road bike.

At your budgeted $ a preowned "trainer" (Kurt Kinetic, CycleOps Fluid 2, etc.) is probably the best option for developing cycling. If that is your objective.

You've been reading reviews on a blog, that you write, that identify a bunch of spin bikes all made by two companies, both of which appear to be related. I'm guessing you own those companies and your post is just a shill to sell your products. You tried it on the Slowtwitch forum too. Those guys are going to tear you apart.

That's surprising. It is pretty amusing that he says "I’ve been reading some reviews on this site http://cardioboss.com/", but neglects to say that it's his own site and he wrote the reviews.

My professional advice on a spin bike:

Make sure you hang your shirts from the bars and not over the saddle. When you use it for its real purpose as a clothes hanger, the shirts will wrinkle less in that position.

Spin bikes are dumb. Dumb click bait is dumb.

You know, I'm not sure either. I'm considering the

"Super Spinning Bike for Home Use SAL902M-3 is Hot Selling"

https://www.alibaba.com/product-deta...458728688.html

or the

"2016 sports bicycles spinning bike spinning machine by man"

https://www.alibaba.com/product-deta...447310384.html

Which do you think is best?

Did some googling... this guy has a website/business based on affiliate promotions. His post is definitely spam. If I were a mod I would lock it again. It has no place here.
