I lost my Twist Resist once and needed it badly. So I had a couple Hozan third hands laying around. Never used 'em so I made a new Twist Resist. It worked well. I ended up finding the real one a couple days later tho. Still have the home made one.

Not using a twist resist, so I think the lack of play in the wrench to nipple interface helps me to feel the effect of nipple rotation on spoke twist better. It just seems to be a more precise rotation-only engagement without any rocking of the spoke wrench.

I like the P&K Lie. I also have a Spokey, I haven't quite gotten to like the Spokey, haven't cleaned it up with a file nicely enough to make it happy to let go of spokes nicely.
I also have the Roval spoke windup resist tool. I like it quite a bit, haven't used a twist resit much, the Roval seems to be somewhat more effective, but considerably more expensive. Marginal gains or something. |
