Oregon Outback 2015 - 5/22/15

http://velodirt.com/the-oregon-outback-2015-ed/

Anyone here going?

I have some time off work in May & booked up some plans in Oregon. A little time in Portland, some hiking & even the coast. Plus I'm additionally seriously considering about making it a part of my trip.

Anyone here planning to do the ride?

Also looking for some recommendations on lodging arrangements & travel logistics.

Thanks!

Looks amazing. I'll mention it to some friends and see if I can drum up any interest. I'll keep you posted.

Anyone going?

I'm thinking about renting a car on the 21st since the Amtrak gets in a little late for me. Would be willing to pickup other participants for help w/ the expense.

The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sage thicket. "Vámonos, amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintcraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.

What were you riding/wearing? We may have crossed paths at some point.

I was thinking more what were you on? 'Cause I want some of that.

Then I looked it up. Great caption/adaptation to that photo.

here's my rig:

it worked pretty well. the nalgene ended up in my rando bag and i used the bungee net to strap on extra layers of clothing for quick access. i like the butt rocket a lot... i don't really notice it while riding. the hetres were a great tire for the ride. i was riding them somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-30psi for most of the ride. supple. i only remember a couple sections where knobs would have helped during some steep/loose gravel climbing, but easier gearing would have been just as useful. because it was wet this year for the first half of the ride, i found myself wishing i had left my fenders on.
