OT Delete all photos and videos from iMessage?

My iCloud storage is full and when I looked at what comprises it I was surprised to see that iMessage is over 40%. It's photos and videos. Try as I might, I can't find a method to delete all of the photos and videos in a conversation. Any insights from the group?

I think that deletes all the messages. What I'd prefer to do is to delet all the photos and videos that came in these messages, and keep the messages if possible. Thank you

Open the Messages app on your iPhone. Tap the name of the person or group you're communicating with at the top of a conversation. Scroll down to a category, such as Photos, then tap See All. Tap Select, tap each item you want to delete, then tap Delete.

You can also swipe left on the iMessage conversations to mute or delete.
I just freed up 10 gigs on my phone by deleting two conversations.

I think you can also turn off backing up iMessages in the iCloud settings on your phone.

You can set the duration for how long messages are kept from forever to 1 year or 30 days in settings and then selecting iMessages.

Recently an article in nytimes shows how to manage photos better. I found it helpful and learned a few tips!

To go after large items in iMessage (and other apps) Go to Settings> General > iPhone Storage > Messages.

Go to settings —-> General —-> iPhone storage —->

Let that page load for a moment, then scroll to messages, and click that.

There should be a box that says “Review Large Attachments”. It will tell you how many GB of space they are using. Click the arrow to the right and there you are…

Your large attachments will be sorted by size (largest to smallest). Click Edit, then select the one(s) you want to delete.

Had a similar issue, although the date was more centric in photo’s than in imessages. Icloud gives you 5GB free, suggest to just pay the 99 cents a month and upgrade to 50GB (there are other, larger options as well, more expensive naturally….)
