GT Serial Number on a Serotta
Has anyone every seen the GT model designation on a Serotta serial number before?
I have one here that I believe to be a Concours Ti setup with canti tabs for CX / touring use. But I thought those were CT? I've got a long list of Serotta serial number model codes but this one I haven't seen before. Thanks! |

My concours with canti studs is CCU. It’s also got straight stays since I guess they provide a little more tire clearance than the s-bend stays. Maybe you’re seeing a G and it’s a C? Other details of the frame could help people identify it more precisely if you can post pictures, I’m sure it will help!

I can't help, but in the interest of keeping my list up to date, if you find out, do let me know.
Also, I know the OP is very knowledgeable in all things Serotta, so if there is other stuff missing from my list, it would be helpful to add. Cheers. I grand touring serotta sounds cool to me! https://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=99078

Grand Touring. I bet that's it. Cause it's got rack/fender mounts on the rear triangle which you really wouldn't need for CX racing. Here's what I've got for the model list built off yours I think (and I've done some guessing on this list):
TX - Colorado TG AS - Atlanta SC - Colorado II, most likely other Colorados as well SL - Nova Special SN - Nova Special X and NHX CT - Concours Ti LI - at least some Ottrotts CS - CSI CO – Colorado III HC - Hors TI - Legend Ti as mentioned but also earlier Colorado Ti TC - Colorado LT CL - CRL?? CL - Classique Ti RD = Research & Development LI - early Ottrott (Legend Integrated) HI - early Ottrott DKS (Hors Integrated) CC - Custom Colorado II through CRL through early CSi (I think) FE - Fierte IT FI - Fierte (steel) FC - Fierte Carbon FT - Fierte Ti FG - Fondo HB - HSG in carbon SP - HSG in Ti HG - HSG in Ti / Carbon LE - Legend Ti GS tubing LS - Legend ST (or maybe SE?) OS - Ottrott ST OG - Ottrott GS Ready Custom, Late Model AX - ATX SD - Davis Phinney Model TS - Colorado Soft Tail MTB....or CT-S - Colorado Soft Tail MTB AT - Colorado Legend AT AI - ATI Titanium Hardtail MTB BS - Ben Serotta Special? ST - Classique Ti. TL - Colorado Legend TG RI - Rapid Tour (ti) MG - HSG Carbon HB - HSG SuperComp Carbon Ti Dropouts (2011+) NV - NOVE??? CXII - CXII LC - La Corsa GT - Grand Touring??? Quote:

I thought it was a C for the last 6 months but someone with eagle eyes pointed out that it was a G and sure enough, it is for sure a G.

A touring Serotta would be super cool. Does the fork have rack mounts too? Guess that’s an easy swap if truly needed. |

Curiously it doesn't. Which is weird because it is the stock fork -I bought it from the original owner with it's original build. And I know Serotta was using Alpha Q as a fork supplier during this era. But yeah, also an easy swap.
