On Road Rage
Saw this tonight on the SF Gate website. Glad I only have to argue with the deer cutting me off. Be careful out there folks...

Nice helmet cam, I wonder how it finally turned out. Did they call the police did they do anything? The driver seemed ready for the fight, he was sure out of his van quickly. I would have come unglued once he kicked my bike, the gloves would of come off. I was surprised the cyclist stayed upright when he bounced off the hatch back.

The important rule when watching driver vs cyclist videos is to almost never, ever read the comments on the article.

I do agree it's better to be safe regardless if you are right or wrong, dead right isn't the way to go. Satellite |

And there's always the justification of "well I see cyclists run stop signs in my hometown, so clearly this guy is at fault as well."

Wait ... isn't this sort of a comments section? Confused. Definitely not a tough guy.

Definitely. I'm relieved when I finish reading a story and see that the comments functionality has been disabled. The article could be about interest rate policy, immigration reform, whatever... and almost without fail, the comments section will include mentions of Nazi Germany and Obama's Kenyan/Muslim roots. I'd be ok if every major news site got rid of comments altogether.

Both of us would have been leaving the scene in vehicles we weren't driving.

I want to click on the link so bad, but I also am working on anger management. I saw a PSA from Australia (I think) that made me almost cry. In part, because it was amazing how people were respecting each other and also because this would almost never happen.

I chose not to watch. Hope no one was hurt. I have to ride those streets Everyday and psycho drivers make my skin crawl. Must stay Zen. All that rage is a vicious cycle.

.........on second thought , do I really wanna spend big bucks on a road bike ?
I think I'll stick to the trails/fireroads. Stay in my hood on the side streets when I do ride on the road. Man that's some scary sh*t.

We cyclists always come across as such complete wussbags in these videos. I know it's the sane, rational, intelligent thing to do, but I'd love to see someone do something other than stand there and say "sir! sir! please don't touch my bike! I have this on camera!!".
