Veloroute Des Baleines

Planning a loaded tour with my wife this summer and considering riding the north shore of the St. Laurence from Tadoussac to Godbout then taking the ferry to Gaspe. We have enjoyed Gaspe in the past but don't know the other part of the route. It is part of the Route Verte system, but is on Rt. 138 for most of the way. Will it be a scenic and enjoyable ride? How is the traffic on that road. I appreciate any advice.

Thanks!

David

Take this with lots of salt:
in 2000 I rode east on the south side from Levis. We camped and B&B'd it, it was lovely. Then we crossed over to the north side, but I can't recall where. It may have been from Rimouski. 138 on the north side was scary - semis at 70 mph. We crossed back at the next ferry west and retraced our route on the south side. The south side has a highway so the local road was lightly traveled and was fine for biking.
So this was 17 years ago....may be different now
