Any helmets not made in China?

I think that Lazer used to make their helmets in Belgium. Do they still?

How about Uvex?

Thanks! I just Googled it, and you are correct:

http://www.bicycleretailer.com/news/...tail/6602.html

Catlike manufactures most of its helmets in Spain. All of the models sold in the U.S. will come from its Spanish factory. The Whisper Plus and Chrono are only made in Spain. Its Spanish factory produces 240,000 helmets annually. But Catlike also owns a factory in China, where it has a production capacity of 160,000 helmets.

Which model?

My old Giro needs to be replaced, and the Uvex Boss is one of the helmets I've been considering.

Can anyone offer a comparison of fit between Uvex and Giro helmets?

Las

I was told their entire line is made in Italy. The Victory is the best helmet I have ever owned.

In my experience you either love or hate UVEX helmets so I would definitely recommend trying one on before you pull the trigger.

A couple of years ago our team had a deal with UVEX. I think we had the FP2's. It was made well and had endless adjustments but it just was not very comfortable, quite heavy and not well ventilated. Most of us sold our helmets before the end of the season and switched to S-Works helmet.

Made in Germany doesn't necessarily mean it is better.

I don't know how specific about the shape I can be, but my Uvex fits well, and my Giro (Atmos) hurt my head. The Atmos hurt my forehead, so maybe it is intended for more of a round head and mine is too oval-shaped.

Also, the straps are more comfortable (IMO) on the Uvex. The Giro straps are anchored at the top-rear of the helmet and have no guides along the back of the helmet, so the straps rubbed on the back of my ears. The Uvex attaches in a similar location, but has guides along the back that direct the straps further down the back of my skull before they come forward to the "Y" under my ear.

FWIW, my Atmos is a much better-looking helmet and I feel that the ventilation is probably better in it as well. Since it isn't comfortable, though, I ride with the Uvex now.

My lazer is made in China. Kask makes some/all in Italy. I believe Rudy also.

I recently purchased uvex fp 3.1 - made in Germany - Fits me better than my giro atmos, so I am happy. However, there was a thread a few days ago about snell certified helmets and I am not sure if uvex meets those standards.

Actually I have a similar issue. Thanks for sharing.

Yep. KASK as well.

And coincidentally, they both have two of the best retention systems in the business.
