Thanks. Dave's restraint in his reply was great.

Dave, have I ever told you how much I like the Terraplane seatstays? Sexiest rear end on the planet!

Well, at least on a bicycle.

Dave, have you ever done a 44mm headtube?

Your bikes are so gorgeous

My mountain and fat bikes have 44's. I can find no reason for, or advantage to, having a tapered steerer on a steel fork so I use standard stuff on road bikes.

Here's a few photos of the Gothic fillet frameset I'm bringing to NAHBS. It will be shown unpainted as pictured.

I've always wanted to do one of these and had the shapes in my mind's eye for many years. I did a test joint like this years ago just as a test of the concept but it took forever for me to make the time to actually put metal together.

This frame was built with a specific customer in mind but after he had to back out after I'd already started the build. I went ahead with the build as originally designed and now this frameset is available. If you are in the market and would like to know the sizing just let me know. An email or PM would work best.

Thanks for looking.

dave

I love this frame! It would almost fit me, too, depending on headtube size. The silver color is not paint, but just stainless, yes?

I also really like the smooth long radius fork bend. Like it a lot more than a J-type bend - very elegant.

Would love to ride that. Unfortunately it looks like if I wanted one of my own, I'd be looking at $4600+, which is a bit painful...

Yes - you are correct. The silver is raw stainless and the only paint is on the head tube an the lugs windows.

I wish I could afford to offer this cheaper...but they are a bizarre amount of work. The number of hours that goes into one of these is just crazy and frankly I've priced it too low but I didn't want to shut people out.

Dave,

The wooden fenders on post #785 are beautiful. And that answers my question: "Would you ever put a rack on Terraplane seat stays?" But then the question:

If you DO put a rack on Terraplane seat stays, do you do anything special with the mount so you don't impact the translation of the stays?

Congratulations Dave, I was at the NABHS over the weekend and saw the Gothic fillet frameset. Wow...that's a stunning frameset.
