good- 1. durable and easy and inexpensive to switch freehubs 2. they last a long time 3. titanium freehubs are light and don't get super duper cog bite 4. lots of hole counts 5. USA made 6. cheap 7. big durable inexpensive available bearings bad- 1. sort of adjustable bearings 2. I guess some people really need super fast million point engagement 3. ugly graphics (on the ano version, they look fine in polish IMHO) 4. weight weenies will be sad

It depends.
If I am building a wheel that needs to be super strong and durable, I like Phil Wood. Never had a failure. If I am building a wheel for a super nice bike, Chris King. But the new lighter Phil hubs are tempting me. If I am building a wheel for a complete gruppo build like Campy or Shimano, I use that companies' hubs wherever possible. BUT today, that is getting harder. There are fewer choices and even fewer spoke count choices.

As with 'other' poll...depends. Campag rig, 32h, hard to beat Record..want to save some $-Miche..have a shimano rig but want really nice hubs-Campag still with HG FH body.
Good, basic, last forever hubs?-Shimano 5800/6800..cheap, work well altho have gotten a little more proprietary, cone and axle wise. Want High Zoot with lotsa drilling options?? DT 350/240(big $), 9000, WI, new Wheels Man hubs Best track/fixie/singlespeed hubs? Phil. For Tony T above..Campag FH body on shimano made hub? Nope, that'll never happen.

Mountain bikes all have Chris King disk hubs super fast engagement.
Road bikes prefer Chris King Classics just to stick with the King planetary gear design. My ENVEs are rocking King R45 and I like them just prefer the King classics. King classics just take sometime to break in. My last set seamed like it took forever ~2500 miles. Now they are butter smooth and super quiet. My buddies I9s and Record hubs are two times as loud.
