You're right, and since there is no prize, I believe you that you didn't look.

I agree, for a generic bit of road it is oddly recognizable. You see it every year and I have the same question... is this a descent? an up hill? is it flat?

I have the feeling that it is a longish, flattish parabola that gives it that look.
aww, thanks. More of the former. I think i was one of the first Stateside to have figured out how to get Eurosport subscription via VPN, so yeah, i watch wayyyyyy to much pro cycling.

That said, i wouldn't have guessed the Paris Roubaix image down to the correct sector. They all look like farmland to me...

Thanks for starting the thread as it really adds a bit of fun to the boredom of off season.

Now if you start putting up images from stage races, i probably can't do as well.

Matt-pal, this entry is a lot more appealing to the judge than the shirt rag thread. Just fyi.

The sun rises on a new challenge. For extra double bonus points, there is something that connects 2 of the below locations....

Manyunk wall and the final 1km of Strade Bianche into Siena

former b/c style of fencing, the lamp posts, the fact it's summer, and that there are no names painted on the street; latter is an icon

last one is hard to tell, one of those TdF stages by the sea. Mont St Michel?

actually, i cheated and found out what the last one is. off by 300 km

the answer to the bonus is thus made easy. Jill Bear

How can you cheat?

Still, perhaps I'll wait until you're not online next time, to make sure others have a chance.

The first two have been correctly named by our resident savant, but the third one is still open to someone who hasn't 'cheated'... though I'm still not sure how you'd cheat on this.

New Challenge. And I should add, that the third picture from the set above is still open to guesses.

That's the descent into Bessason right after the turn where Beloki came to grief.

2. Col de Manse - just exiting Beloki corner. That's likely Sagan under the green block

1. I'll return... I know this ..

BTW I can't see the previous triplet.

EDIT: dammit... that's what you get for not posting immediately and spending 10 minutes trying to figure out #1 with your answer half written. You get beat at the line.

Beloki Crash

Video from 2015 Tour, where the screen grab is from.

Try this link. This is the last pic in the previous 3. Not sure why you can't see them. It is a link from google photo, so maybe you have something set up to block that site?

And, since it's Friday, and 50 degrees, and I'm leaving for a ride after lunch...

Here's a veritable gimme.

the gimmer isn't so hard

the mushroom house, however, is.

What i can rule out are races not in a Dutch speaking region. The blue flag with white letters seems to be that of Het Nieuwsblad, so i'll say a Flandrian Classic.

I recall seeing it somewhere, but can't recall where.

My suspicion is that this is in Ronde van Vlaanderen; Kruisberg/Hotund.

Correct on the region. I guess you'll be watching Flandrian races this weekend.

If you are inclined to brute force it, that house shows up as a circle on bing maps. So if you were able to download and follow the whole route of every Flandrian race, you could probably find it that way as well.

As far as the gimme... haha, the thing is labeled so much, I practically had to cover the whole thing up. Look at a real picture of it, it's got its name on it about 5 times.

Probably too easy. For full credit, you have to give the year

If you can't see the other pictures above, please let me know. I'll upload them via the attachment feature. Usually, I don't have a problem linking from google.
