Word, keep record of serial numbers and or identifying marks, gashes, dents, color and whatever sets your bike aside from others.

This is great. I was expecting another post where someone forever loses a nice bike and glad it wasn't one.

Wow! What a sickening feeling to have such fantastic bikes stolen, and the jubiliation of getting them back in such a short time...fantastico!

Something like that,

It's an incredible contrast in feelings both to have lost them and now to have found them so suddenly. Officer Friedman and the SFPD Bike Theft unit really are doing excellent work! I cannot say enough positive things about them! I urge you all to support them by following them on Twitter, spreading the word, and if you have the chance buying one of their T-shirts!! They are good guys and cyclists to boot!

As per the suspects, they are in custody and are facing numerous felony charges. They were armed and were convicted felons on parole. I was not their only victim unfortunately but I am happy to know that they are going to jail for this one!

Thanks for all the help and support received from members of this forum! A very happy ending indeed!!!

Really happy that you were able to recover your bikes! What a roller-coaster day it must have been. I agree that the SFPD is doing great work to recover these bikes and the twitter account seems to be working.

I realize you may not have all the details, but I'm curious to know how the perps got into your garage. Were there signs of forced entry? I also wonder if they knew you had these bikes. Were they targeting other high-end bikes, or just taking what they could from random garages?

It seems they were targeting these bikes. Other valuables, including bikes, were not taken. I can't say much about the details of the case but it's pretty scary that guys like this are out there and that there is a market for stolen bikes that would warrant this kind of behavior.

Lock them up (bikes and thieves)!!!

So they did! Unfortunate but I do like the valuation they placed on them!
