I see you're sticking with the bridge theme for the other one.

Looks familiar, but can't place it. Need to think about it a bit.

ding ding ding ding. we have a winner

incidentally, that's probably the sound of the alarm bell going off in Fignon's head when he saw Lemond bridging up

it was unintentional. though i've just looked at the cache of upcoming entries, and a lot of them have bridges

Though we still have one challenge unresolved, I wanted to change it up for this week. Hopefully with an easy, medium and hard and one that is more relevant than ever.

Here's the one that is still open

For today, name the flag

Easy?

Medium?

Hard?

Relevant?

For the image that is still open: are we in the Ardennes?

My gut says that the trees have too many leaves for it to be in the spring. I think (for really no reason whatsoever) that this is the stage in last year's TDF that Cancellara was expected to win (sort of a steep climb near the finish), I forget who ended up winning, but it wasn't Canc. That is just a WAG. But sometimes those are the best.

I don't have enough confidence in that answer though to make it my 'final answer'

not quite.

this is de Vlaamse Leeuw

what @MattTuck posted is the flag of the Flandrien separatist movement. To the separatists, the red claws completes the tricolor of the Belgian flag, and is thus eschewed.

I'd have accepted a generic "flag of Flanders", as I did not realize the whole red claws thing. But makes sense. When I see it, I think I just identify the black/yellow lion as representing Flanders without appreciating the nuances of the political situation there.
