Yes it will. I am proof of that. Both my sons have very robust 529s. My wife & I committed to it early and kept at it every year without fail. Saving is hard, but 529s absolutely will get you to the finish line.

They didn't exist for my oldest. The 529 paid for almost the first two years for my youngest.

True, but as a parent, my kids will always come first. If that means I get to do less in my retirement or work a little more, so be it.
