Friend visited from SoCal, so we rode a bit

Got a pic of me as we were going up Mt. Hamilton

Stock circle mirror pic at the top

His rd hangar exploded less than 2 miles away from home.

Our theory is the chain got caught between the jockey wheels and the cage. He tried to tune the rd with lighter jockey wheels, and had some issues with shifting before, but thought we fixed it. When it broke we were only going ~15 mph and he was in the middle of the cassette, so it wasn't an issue with limits.

I told him tuning the jockey wheels weren't worth it when his bike is already 5.8kg but noooooooooooo he just had to do it.

Yeah, BMC SLR02. He's ordered another hanger already. No other damage, so this should be a simple fix. Put the original jockey wheels back in and change out the hanger, and he should be good to go.

It was howling wind today so decided to skip the road bike and jumped on the trails instead.

Downtown ride today. I rarely ride the trails, but they were nice and unpopulated today. This is our now defunct floating amphitheater. Hopefully it will be revived once river improvements are made.

After my amazing "lucky" 13th place finish at Cherry Pie

No, it wasn't amazing. But mid-pack is still better than last, and even last is still better than DNF, any day of the week.

Photos from your rides.

Tailwind hammer down for the first half. I got a flat tire at the local college ( Randolph Macon ) which I fix at this pretty spot. Headwind for the next 45 minutes. I was happy to have nice enough weather to be sweating at 7am.
