I think I finally figured out my spare tube and tool storage strategy. Ever since I got a dropper I’ve been researching different saddle bag options. Everything I saw listed as dropper compatible still seemed to have the possibility of the bag touching the dropper. I settled on the Dakine Hot Gripper. I was a little concerned about the Velcro not holding but it held fast on a bumpy descent.

Oh that second photo is Tennessee Valley right? I used to hike and bike out there when I lived in San Francisco in 1979-1980. What great memories, I hope it hasn't changed to much it was always so peaceful, quite and beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Last week in the Fraser valley in CO. The Alliance performed superbly, just as I had expected. Thanks Erik! Legs and lungs performed as I expected as well, living at 867' and riding starting at about 8500' and going up

As a big guy I did appreciate hydro discs in the mountains; gave me more confidence descending that I could stop when I needed or bleed off speed when I wanted without having to worry about long braking times or lots of hand pressure for too long. Great modulation too on the H11 stuff.


Really cool that on one ride on Hwy 40 from Tabernash to Fraser I glanced to my right, and about 30 yards away were five pronghorn antelope, loping along single file at my pace. After about 30 seconds the leader shot off like a rocket and the others followed into a length of willow thickets. Then about a minute later they were back alongside at my pace again. Pretty magical.

Yes, that's TV. Still beautiful. Probably not as peaceful as it used to be but foggy and windy days keep the amateurs home.

Bucket list ride!!! Great photo. Did you go all the way up to Slate Peak? I was told by the Methow Valley Bike Shop the recommended a MTB for Harts Pass/Slate Peak.
