Heart Monitors for iPhone reviews ??
Anybody using a heart rate monitor with an iPhone.. I am in my fifties now and want to start taking a look at my heart stats now and then.. I have a iPhone 4S and don't feel the need for a Garmin.. too much information...And my iPhone with any number of apps does mostly the same thing.. But would like to be able to wear a monitor now and then and use an iPhone app to track.. I know that s the iPhone apps wear the battery down pretty quickly.. but feel a cheap extra battery pack from china and a blue tooth heart monitor will be a better choices financially.
Any experiences ??

you might be best off getting the ant+ adapter from garmin or wahoo fitness or any number of other providers and then sync with any ant+ HR monitor.. as for software, I'm sure the wahoo fitness software would work well..

I would just get the Garmin and ignore whatever information is too much. Boucne an Iphone off the concrete going 25 mph and you will know what I mean.

Cost factor
The Garmin is about 300 and the monitor another 85.. Im not about to just go and get that...
I track rides with my iPhone in a case in my pocket.. not likely to fall off the handlebars there.. Also the software automatically uploads the ride to a web page and sends a link to my emails. Thats why I specifically was asking about those who have experience with the iPhone and Monitors.

I ride with both a Garmin 800 and an iPhone running Cyclemeter.
I have heard that there are apps that can do heart rate, but can your battery handle a long ride? I find that the Garmin is more accurate and as mentioned, I ignore the superfluous data. |

What type of heart rate information are you looking for? Hoping to download entire ride data and analyze it? just looking for average/max Heart Rate?
You could probably just pick up a cheap polar watch and monitor, and get some of that data. Don't have any experience with HR straps with an iPhone.

MotionX
Motion X has a bike nab app that can record and store all the data.. so i would be able to look back on my rides and see what my heart was doing..
It gives you a web page with yr her rates and elevations etc.. I guess the question I am trying to get answered is... Has anyone used a monitor with an iPhone and if so which monitor and how well did it work. Not interested in Garmin or watches or whatever.. Just want to know about experiences using a monitor with an iPhone.. Thanks boys and girls.
