I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever be able to afford a nice new bike again.

I'm not drawn to this particular Moots, but my opinion is worth zero anyway.

Perhaps I overstated my claim. I love the mini motos, and I love my bike, and for the riding I tend to do I don't think dice would help much.

I was mostly thinking about how this moots fills the same kind of niche I went custom for, a bike which is primarily a road bike designed for pavement, but which *can* take wide enough tires to function off road.

it's going through a MCFKification right now with a sprinkle of THM and the Lightweight are gone for HED Black clinchers or Zipp 606 Tubs. More 3k weave look instead of Ti

just perfect. well if it were me i'd prefer a black edge (enve) fork and ditching the moots letters from the stem....

( i have a moots stem and post on another bike, no logo.)

Moots recent announced new finishes, like this Ground Swell. The 33 can be apparently be ordered with these new finishes.

I wish they’d offer a bright brush the finish and lose the dull grey finish.

To some, no luxury brand is worth more than a similar product at a lower price point. Clothes, cars, watches, etc. Compared to a less expensive Ti frame, a No.22, Baum, Firefly, Speedvagen (Ti), Bingham or DeSalvo make no sense. And yet they do to many. We all ultimately vote with our wallets. Go Moots.

Anyone seen a price on frame only? I wouldn’t assume frame only is much less of these other custom frames.

Interesting! I wonder if Agave is doing these finishes for them?

The real margin is in the mudguards and undercoating.. err, selling a Rival AXS groupset at full MSRP when packaging it as a full bike.

I don't think they do framesets direct anymore but you can get them from resellers like WrenchScience and some sellers on eBay. And sometimes in Moots' demo section of their site.

Yep. A customs Hampsten by Bingham at $4900, a rival AXS group and some Boyd wheels and your less than that Moots.
