same. it's especially interesting in the current situation, to me, because in the past few years Tours, there's been situations where one or two teams will have two or three guys each in the top ten. makes it SUPER difficult if the GC leader is isolated, because he has to chase all of them. but it also makes it so that one team (you know who) will just drill out a ridiculous pace on the front, to keep the isolation or attacks from occurring. current situation is more open to anything happening, really. but it also means Dumoulin has a good chance of holding on, even without teammates up there with him.

Landa's pedaling looks a lot more fluid than Tj's...

Agreed, but you've got to pull for TJ.

bmc saved the giro.

Quintana was dead today, if TD pulls a hat trick he might drop him in the next 2 days.

Pinot and zakarin still can podium. Evne pozzovivo still can podium.

I have to agree. IMO the ones that screwed it today was quintana and nibali. Now they gonna have to cover TD and the other guys that got time back today all can climb and TT some way or another.

At some point I thought TD was going to just get rid off everybody going TT mode uphill in the last 5 km or so. Quintana doesnt have the legs and Squalo is at his limits. Remember that the only one with a team that worth is Quintana so based on that Quintana is at his limits at this point of the race. Nibali can TT better than quintana and probably he will wait till the last day to cement his podium because so far today I do not see them chipping the seconds needed in the next 2 days to win the race. The last mountain day will be the key, because quintana needs at least 30 to 45 seconds ahead before sunday.

TD wins or not? what do you guys think?

I dunno, other than it being 'cool' to treat him as the whipping boy of US riders in the protour, why wouldn't you?

TJ rode a great race and took the sprint with a nice move. Definitely deserves props.

TJ has done nothing but whined and blown loads of hot air the last few years, don't see any reason to root for him at all.
I'm a much bigger fan of guys like Brent Bookwalter and Ian Boswell and such.

The second-to-last climbing day will be remembered for an 8k downhill with big, wide, sweeping, on-camber turns that made going 80.6 kph (so says the Garmin … which, if true, makes me faster than Dombrowski!) seem easy. Just a delightful ride, the last 45k of the race course. That meant that I was able to scout out ahead of time where Quintana and Nibali needed to attack. And Quintana did go at the precise point I thought he would, but he ran out of gas and/or courage.

Some beautiful scenery along the way, very "Sound of Music” reminiscent.

The last climb was short and stiff, with some 14 percent ramps. Hooked up with a couple of riders from Naples and we rode mostly together until the summit, 4.5k from the finish. From there it was an easy uphill to the village of Ortisei and then mostly downhill and flat, with some cobbles, to the finish.

Our viewing vantage point was the last hospitality trailer at the 50-meter mark from the finish. But before that we got to ride the closed course from the 450-meter mark to the line and have pictures taken with the podium and podium girls. However, when I asked they said they were not allowed to kiss us. Damn.

Got to watch Tejay’s sprint from close up; good on him. Hopefully this will make him a little less of a whiner.

Tomorrow we have the last mountain finish and our last climb, the Piancavallo.
