Did you ever think about going with a 1x11 gearing system when you were planning out your ride?

I am really loving the Mosaic. I don't think I would ever set the bike up for a 1x11 gearing system because I ride on the road a lot. Right now, my gearing is 50x34 11x28. I think. 11x32 would be better. I have some very strong friends that ride 11x36 because they like the cadence that gearing offers going uphill.

Mo,

It's a Victoire frame. Those are wide rimmed 3T accelero pro wheels with nominal 25mm Conti's. The actual width 26.5-27mm by calipers. Smooth dirt and light gravel is fine; more than that (or more than you can pick through doubletrack) and more tire/bike is needed.

What wheels are those? I am assuming your bike came with the DT set up, is this a second wheelset option or an upgraded primary wheelset? Any issues with the stock?

Happy with your choice of bike for that ride?

Running the Schwalbes tubeless?

Also appears you changed the rotors over to the Ice-tech? Any noticeable difference?

The wheels are DT Swiss XR 1501s - primarily mtn bike wheels of course but c. 1500g per set. No issues with the stock R24s. These are lighter and a touch wider - 20 mm vs 18 mm. For the 1501s, I have to convert them to 11-sp road w/a new freehub and right side end cap.

The bike is great. I've been riding it about 2 months - mostly road so far but lately more mixed road/trail. This is the bike for the Belgian Waffle ride in April. It's just getting dialed in and I'm liking it more and more. And am planning to convert to Di2 in a week or two and change out some of the components for something a bit lighter.

Sunday was the first ride on the new S-Ones. They worked great - smooth on the road and wide enough for the dirt. They packed up a little with the mud but everyone's did that day.

The other XR 1501s I have came w/6 bolt hubs. But these had CL. So I put the nice rotors on them. No real difference that I could tell.

I'm planning to run 3 wheelsets on this bike. Heavy duty (wilderness adventure) w/38c (40c in front) or 35c tires, mixed road/trail duty (urban adventure) w/the S-Ones, and pure road with a 25c. Right now I have a pair of Vittoria Open Pave in 27c for road and they're pretty nice. I lent them to a friend for last Sunday's ride and she did great on them. But hope to go with the new Pro-One in 25c when those wear out.

Yes, the Schwalbes are set up tubeless. The rims seem to hold the higher pressure easily. In fact, the tires went on by hand, seated w/a floor pump and even held air w/o sealant for 3 or 4 days until I added sealant. I even did a ride on them w/o sealant. I was amazed really.
