If you dont want stuff on your bars - and I get it, its in the way of gps mounts, lights, etc - a small frame bag tucked behind the head tube is really nice to have too.

Somewhat ironic comment in the thread, but I don't disagree. This bag isn't for the outdated stereotype René Herse customer, it's for the new market being sought - gravel and to a limited extent, bikepacking. Where the luggage and process of carrying such is always less than optimal but the riders make do because that's what's available to them.

The same thought process behind tire-width limited racing bikes - "23mm tires make my hands and backside hurt but that's what racing bikes have so that's what I'll use."

Strap on a burrito bag and it bounces all over and makes the handling feel weird when you really need it to feel intuitive but oh well that's just how it is.
