Not as fly as some in this thread, but this was my bargain replacement for some good stuff--a '90s era filet brazed Simonetti, brazed by Mike Howard--still in the Masi diaspora tradition. Mike thought it was likely Tange tubing at that point...
Rides like an Italian bike... |

Wow...cool to see what I had going on 4 years ago...that was pre-divorce. Collection has mostly turned over and gotten smaller.
The lineup now: Tandems: Santana Noventa w/ carbon fork Single road: Merckx Professional Columbus SLX with matching steel fork Davidson Impulse Tange Prestige with matching steel fork Lemond "Spine" Maillot Jaune True Temper OX Platinum/OCLV with Alpha Q fork Single rocky road: Gunnar Crosshairs with Waterford steel fork (my favorite riding bike) Soma Double Cross Disc with steel fork (now also serves as touring and townie) We're also developing the next generation of steel bike lovers. My sons have been wrenching with me since they were very small. When the older boy was six, they got to build this up for themselves. We found the Colnago for a great price on local CL. I gave them a lightly used 7700 group. They did most of the build while I tightened to spec, tuned, and wrapped the bar tape. We worked on it about half an hour each time, putting on one or two parts at a time so it stayed fun and within their attention span. Since then, they've been involved with countless other builds and now help me with a small strip and flip gig where they earn a bit of money. Tai Quote:
