JR59, what do you think of the late model Mido Multifort? The 38mm checks all the boxes for me!

You can get a modded Seiko 5 that resembles a 556I for less than $200, which is what I had for a few years.

Otherwise, I'd consider the Stowa to be the best looking pilot's watch for around that price point.

I like them. Under rated watch brand, not really market here in the US all that well.

I don't know if I'm late to the party or late to the ruins of what was once the after-party but I just ordered one of these:

Hey Ari...Sorry I missed your question...I was "out of touch" for a few days.

I really don't know a ton about Seikos...but...I almost pulled the trigger on this one earlier today:

Was planning on modding it with a "55" fathoms dial from Dagaz or Yobokies...

Since I didn't scoop up the Seiko...and my COURG still hasn't arrived...I got weak and bought this (been looking for something bronze).

Archimede Sporttaucher Bronze.

I was originally holding out (and really still want one) for a Defakto Modular Bronze, but found this one used...same family tree...Ickler.

Looks great in the picture, but 16 mm high is a thick chunk of watch.

Hmmm...Shows total height of 14mm on the Steinhart website, and with a domed sapphire and that beveled bezel, I can't imagine it's that horrible.

...now, for example, the co-axial 8500 Omegas at 19mm+ are a whole other story! With those I prefer the last series (2500) which are at east 3mm thinner.

My Sinn 756 Diapal is 14.2mm (40mm D) and wears very nicely on my 7.375" wrist.
