200k? Damn, I'm jealous. I have to get my legs back (and lose some weight). How did the 650's do on a paved ride that long? I am running the Juniper Ridge's on my new build and haven't felt much of a difference vs. my 700's.

Doing a lot of gravel and path riding on my Highball 29er. Terreno 2.25s work great for this. Bumped the chainring up to 36T. Wide flat bars are super.

Love this color. Love XC hardtails too - such fun and versatile bikes!

How do you choose between this, the Warbird and the Stigmata when you're headed out for a little gravel?

Also, noonan's pink fade Crux above is super hot. Specialized is putting out such good paint these days.

That Crux is great.

hardtail vs gravel bike is a tricky one.

I often choose the hardtail. A lot of the gravel I ride is on sand roads connected by forest pathways. An svelte xc hardtail is just more efficient and fun for loose variable bumpy stuff like that.

For more consistent dirt road riding (e.g. D2R2), a drop bar gravel bike is better. For a lot of those rides, I honestly prefer my Lauf because it rides super nice and the fork does wonders for fatigue and handling. The Warbird and Stigmata are part of a larger experiment I'm doing in checking out various gravel framesets when deals come along (55 Hakka anyone?). There is a lot of redundancy, and a couple gravel frames will be moved along soon.

It’s too bad you don’t have options I’ve enjoyed reading your various posts about different horses for courses.

Ha! The redundant gear is getting out of hand with being at home all the time. The purge will come.

From my gravel ride on the arizona rim near show low. There is a deer in the last photo but can’t really see it. Was just me, cows, some elk and deer today.
