As I said above, My Zanc CX frame has a pretty low BB and rides more like a road bike, all day comfort, while my IF Planet X has a higher BB. Zanc is not the only one building CX frames that way, a choice you make when picking a model or builder. The real difference is fender mounts and holes for bottle cages. The lack of bottles is my only regret with my Zanc.

Swiss Army Bike
This one wears many hats...rides great with 23's (just did 12'k on Sunday with Lightweights), takes up to 35's, will do fenders in the winter and packs up in a box to fly. I got the frame off CL from a forum PSA...fork is from Steelman and is set up for internal dyno hub light wiring. The frame is set up a bit slack with low BB...stiff enough to have fun but not to be harsh. For some reason it always looks a little funny to my eye (dropped top-tube/head tube extension is probably the culprit) but the compact geometry makes it easy to pack. One day I'll get a Moots ti stem/post combo...

That Seven is awesome!!! Very nicely done This is my new gravel/cross/rain/winter bike. Looking forward to tackling D2R2 on it in a couple weeks! Last edited by JayBay; 08-08-2013 at 04:09 PM. |

The primary tool for the job. Currently running Clement X'plor USH tires. This one is just as fun, though, and certainly more focusing. See? Proof! Sorry about the ankle panties, though. |

Here's my two. Very different, but both can handle gravel decently.

Wow! That is a beauty. Will this be used for X-C racing as well?

I figured it was only fitting I branch out here as I am heading more and more toward modern bikes. Next up, cross build. |

Thanks. Perhaps similar login names lead to similar tastes?
I'll keep an eye out for you in Deerfield. -- John |

Thanks. The bike would work well for CX racing too - in high B/B mode at least. It has an eccentric B/B, for various reasons. As pictured, it's in super low B/B position (with 8.6cm of drop) which contributes to a wonderfully planted feel when descending. That, combined with 700x40 Clement X'Plor MSOs, results in a relatively "normal" B/B height.
However, I will probably be away for a large portion of the 'cross season, so it's unlikely the bike will see use in that capacity. -- John |

I dunno. It doesn't have logos that I know of, and I got it used. It's titanium.
