I'll probably get something out of the Takata settlement. Might buy a tank of gas for the GTI.

I believe that the Bosch settlement is not related to the vehicle buy back.

It is, in the sense that if you did the paperwork for the buyback, you had nothing else to do. People not participating in the buyback had to fill out paperwork for the Bosch settlement.

March 2017. I received the email below From Bosch in March 2017:

This is an Important, Court-Approved Notice About a Class Action Settlement

You are receiving this email notice because you are a current or former owner/lessee of a 2.0-liter TDI Volkswagen or Audi vehicle. You may be eligible to receive an additional payment from a settlement with Bosch, another defendant in the same lawsuit (“Bosch Settlement”). Your payment could be up to $350 in addition to what you may be eligible to receive from the 2.0-liter Settlement with Volkswagen/Audi (“2.0-liter Settlement”).

What Are My Rights? What Do I Need To Do?

If you already filed, or if you file in the future, an approved claim in the 2.0-liter Settlement, you will automatically receive a payment through the Bosch Settlement. Go to www.VWCourtSettlement.com to file a claim online any time before September 1, 2018.

If you have excluded yourself from the 2.0-liter Settlement, you can still file a claim in the Bosch Settlement until August 15, 2017.

If you are an Eligible Seller and missed the Identification Deadline in the 2.0-liter Settlement, you have until May 1, 2017 to file a claim in the Bosch Settlement.

If you do not file a claim in the 2.0-liter settlement, you can still file a claim in the Bosch Settlement until December 31, 2019.

You can object to or exclude yourself from the Bosch Settlement by April 14, 2017. If you do not exclude yourself from the Bosch Settlement, you will not be able to sue Bosch separately for the claims this Settlement resolves.

Any exclusion request or objection you submitted for the 2.0-liter Settlement has no effect in the Bosch Settlement, except that you will have to submit a claim form in the Bosch Settlement, available at www.BoschVWSettlement.com, before September 1, 2018 to receive benefits.

The Court will hold a hearing on May 11, 2017 to consider whether to grant final approval to the Bosch Settlement.

Attorneys representing the class will request Court approval of attorneys’ fees and costs. Those fees and costs will be paid from the settlement fund.

Visit www.BoschVWSettlement.com or contact a representative of the Claims Administrator, toll-free, Monday through Friday, except for recognized holidays, at 1-844-305-1928, for more details on the Bosch Settlement and your rights and options.

Sincerely,

Bosch Settlement
Claims Administrator

For more information, visit www.BoschVWSettlement.com.

If you submit or have submitted an approved Claim in the 2.0-liter or 3.0-liter Volkswagen (“VW”) Settlements, you will automatically receive a payment from the Bosch Settlement and do not need to file a separate Claim in the Bosch Settlement. For more information, see below.

Eligible Owners, Sellers, or Lessees of the following vehicles may be eligible for cash payments in the Bosch Settlement:

2.0-LITER CLASS VEHICLE BENEFITS:
· Eligible Owners of 2.0-liter Eligible Vehicles may receive up to $350.
· Eligible Lessees may receive $200.
· Eligible Sellers may receive $175.

2.0-LITER CLASS VEHICLES:
· Volkswagen Jetta: 2009-2015
· Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen: 2009-2014
· Volkswagen Beetle: 2013-2015
· Volkswagen Beetle Convertible: 2013-2015
· Audi A3: 2010-2013; 2015
· Volkswagen Golf: 2010-2015
· Volkswagen Golf SportWagen: 2015
· Volkswagen Passat: 2012-2015

3.0-LITER CLASS VEHICLE BENEFITS:
· Eligible Owners of 3.0-liter Eligible Vehicles may receive up to $1,500.
· Eligible Lessees may receive $1,200.
· Eligible Former Owners may receive up to $750.

3.0-LITER CLASS VEHICLES:
· Volkswagen Touareg: 2009-2016
· Audi Q7: 2009-2015
· Audi A6, A7, A8, A8L, Q5: 2014-2016
· Porsche Cayenne Diesel: 2013-2016

HOW IT WORKS:
If you filed (or will file) a Claim in one or both of the 2.0-liter or 3.0-liter VW Settlements, and the Claim is approved, you are automatically an eligible Class Member in the Bosch Settlement and will receive a payment if you did not opt out of the Bosch Settlement. If this describes your situation, you do not need to file a Claim in the Bosch Settlement.

If you do not file an approved Claim in one or both of the 2.0-liter or 3.0-liter VW Settlements, or if you request exclusion from the applicable VW Settlements, you will not receive an automatic payment from the Bosch Settlement for that vehicle. If this describes you, you must file a Claim in the Bosch Settlement to participate in the Bosch Settlement and to receive a payment. To file a Claim electronically, please visit the Submit a Claim page of the Settlement Website; or, you may submit a paper version by downloading the Bosch Settlement Claim Form from the Important Documents page of the Settlement Website.

For more information about the Bosch Settlement, please visit www.BoschVWSettlement.com or call the Claims Administrator toll-free at 1-844-305-1928. You may also contact Settlement Class Counsel at info@vwclasscounsel.com or toll-free at 1-800-948-2181.

Sincerely,

Bosch Settlement

Got our check yesterday, buyback was 12/29/2017

Used it to buy a tire for the Grand Cherokee, my long suffering significant other ran over a spike or something and Friday and wrecked one. Luckily it was just a tire, last time it was 2 rims, too
