A gravel bike with a dropper post. For $3K complete this is a real cool bike.

That is a crazy deal. $3000 with a dropper and carbon wheels. That is less than my OPEN frame cost.

I knew this was going to happen, actually surprised it took this long but I am actually impressed at the build for the price. $3000 I would have not expected carbon wheels. 18-20lbs is a pretty good weight for all that too.

I see that dropper adds $200 and paint adds a few hundred too but still a good deal. My open complete cost me easily $2500 more and that was me shopping deals and paceline. Its a bit lighter with a 2x system but there are a few things this has that the OPEN doesnt. Fender mounts and fork cage mounts. Very cool, would love to try one to put it against the OPEN. I may eat my words but I highly doubt the OPEN is twice as nice as this for twice the price (it is an amazing bike though, probably one of my favorite bikes ever)

Yes this is a pretty cool and well thought out bike. The point of diminishing returns on bike related goods is funny, but you're open is an awesome well put together bike
regardless of cost.

This is the bike I ride when it's 80% paved 20% gravel.

Question for the two of you though. Given where and how you both ride, in NY State, etc - do either of you feel a dropper post would enhance your riding?

serious question, i dont know anything about these things.

I honestly don't think so, but just don't have any experience with a dropper. Both my mountain bikes still have a regular seatpost.

Never used one but I really do not think would do anything for up here or D2R2/Farmers kind of ride. The gravel is usually pretty easy going, maintained.

Not going to lie, I have entertained the idea because I would love to try one but never seen it necessary for where we ride.
