I just ordered the Garmin 255 without music. It will be used as a watch to monitor daily HR, O2 sat, sleep and for three recovery walks a week. Normally, my HR doesn't get very high when doing so. My hard workouts are on the bike and I use a chest strap with my Garmin Edge 130 plus. It seems pretty accurate. As far as I know, I don't have any heart issues.

Those are as good a bet as any. Any thing nicer
Is more $$$ and more features.

For another POV, I'm a fan of the Scosche optical armband with my Fenix 6 Pro and Edge 1030. DC Rainmaker's reviews and ongoing references are quite positive.

It's much more accurate than the wrist sensor on the watch, and it reads more reliable for colder rides and Nordic skiing than a chest strap. At least than my experience as an n=1.

I was wondering today on my ride if the armband HRMs are as accurate as the chest straps since the arms are optical and the chest isn't..
