Call it whatever you want, the axle to crown and rake are almost identical --it'll work well

Kona always had a clearance page on their B2B site. They recalled some ebikes due to frame issues, and all the bits other than the frame ended up on the clearance page. Good prices, sold quickly. This was long before the current period of difficulties. It wouldn't surprise me if other bike companies do the same and that's where some of this stock comes from. I also imagine right now that some salesmen are getting paid in parts, I know of that happening in the past.

Does anyone know of any bikes with oem forks that might fit the bill?
35-40ish tire clearance. 50 rake. 400 axle to crown. Wondering if I could maybe find a take off or such. |

You could try the bikeinsights search tool?

Pedal pirate parts, obviously they seized them on the high seas.

Just get one of the many forks that meet those specs with more tire clearance and call it a day.

Of course they moved to full carbon forks in the newest iteration of the bike.... |

Am I correct that a shorter fork will decrease trail and decreasing rake will increase trail?
So a slightly shorter fork with 5mm less rake should be about a net even change in trail? Will drop the front end and lower stack height as well though right? Edit: Just played with it a bit and 2cm shorter fork with 5mm less rake brings me to the same trail. Does that make sense? Last edited by ridethecliche; 05-05-2024 at 01:14 PM. |

I found this fork that might fit the bill (link), but I think my goal is to find something used or an oem takeoff that works. |

Sorry friends. Just bumping this again to see if my math maths out. Y'all know the geo stuff much better than me.

You don't want to run a fork 2cm shorter than stock, regardless on net impact on trail.
