Quoting from the VWDieselinfo.com web site's FAQ:

Owners and lessees of affected 2.0L vehicles will have until April 30, 2016 to register for the TDI Goodwill Package. For 3.0L TDI owners and lessees, the deadline to register has been extended to July 31, 2016.

So, only a few days left.

I've heard others report that some dealers will price match competitors on tires or offer a different brand that they have in stock as an alternative to price matching. You could also try to sell the dealer card at a discount if you simply want to cash it out.
End date for the 2.0L models is 30 April, so if you want in you'd better act fast, only 8 days left.

Do you guys expect that the cash payment offered with buyback will be totally independent of the prior $1k?
It is clearly stated that by taking the gift cards you do not give up your right to further legal action.

Crank the temp to the max and put the fan on 2 or higher. That turns the heater on if you have one.

Yes, but the settlement in Federal Court isn't you taking a legal action. Anyway, the info that the program is ending at the end of the month is really useful. Thanks.

The program came out in October. The class action suits barely existed, much less the more important EPA and DOJ suits. I wouldn't read too much into it, it consult an attorney if you need to. Just get them now as they expire a year after issue.

There is absolutely no down side to getting the goodwill cards. As Steve said, BIG print made it clear you are waiving no rights. Sign up and do it fast.

I'm an attorney. I took mine and joined a class action. Used as partial payment on some Enves yesterday. Take the money.

Latest rumor I've heard is that for the '11-'12s the fix is particularly hard. They may not be eligible for anything but a buyback.

Maybe you can confirm this. There is no need to join a class action suit. Simply being the owner of record on 9/18/15 automatically puts you in the consolidated class action suit in front of Judge Breyer. An opportunity to opt out will come later.

Once again, there are no significant differences between years within each generation, so there is nothing special about the 2011/2012 models. 2009-2014 Jetta are all the same, except for the first year 2009's which have an integrated exhaust system, catalyst, and DPF. 2010-2014 are the same.

Incorrect. The 2014 JSW TDI is identical to the 2013 model except that the backup camera became standard. I have one.

10-4-So 2014, no urea? Then big dollar-to not possible/probable to fix? Buy back?

When this get etched in 'stone', it's all going to be interesting..I predict another 500-600 posts here.

Unknown at this time what, or if, a fix is available for cars currently without SCR systems. Sentiment is that VW will offer option of buyback or repair (assuming fix is available) and the consumer will have two years to decide which option to take.
