Opinions on Velocio Foundation bib shorts/tights?
As a large mammal, it’s tough to find bike clothes that actually fit. Velocio has some extended sizes that look like just the thing. Anyone have firsthand experience with their stuff?
I tried some Aerotech gear but it was pretty underwhelming so looking for other options “for the ample gentleman.” Thanks!

I may not be totally qualified to speak about how their larger sizes fit. What I will say is that the build quality of their bibs is on par with the best. Sizing, I've found that they tend to run slightly large. I'm in dead center medium in comparable brands. In Velocio I wear a small bib. I will also add that there C.S. is very good.

big fan of Velocio Luxe bibs here. extremely comfortable; I haven’t tried any of the other models so far.
I’m 6’5 and around 250lbs, 2XL and 3XL fit me. for comparison, in Rapha I’m 2XL also. |

Not sure what size you are, but I have some barely worn Foundation and Luxe bibs I'm going to sell. Size XL. I'm 6'2", 180#, and Velocio size charts tell me I should wear a smaller size, but I've tried that and don't like how tight they are, including the bib straps. XL fit me well. I just have too many pairs, and I like the Concept bibs the best. PM me or watch the Classifieds.

I was originally happy with them, but found that they didn't last very long. The chamois is thin, which is more of a personal preference, but the face fabric will pill and the straps lose their elasticity. I'd say that the Luxe V2 bibs are far better, though both the Luxe and Foundation bibs I've kept in rotation both have failed chamois stitching.
Considering the rampant sales going around, I'd probably look at Giordana, which next to Assos, have been the highest quality bibs in my closet. |
