Here's something a little different... 80s Bridgestone tourer I set up for the girlfriend. We like to ride mellow gravel paths and dirt roads so I guess it belongs here. Not sure of the year on the frame, anybody know?

Soma sparrow bars
Suntour friction shifters
9spd 12-36 cassette with xt derailleur
Original cranks and fd converted to 2x (Sugino and sweet Shimano deer head)
Ultegra/Surly hubs on Delgado rims
38mm paselas
Basket

Much as I'd like an awesome photo in the wild, I have my bike here in the office and I have my cell phone...so voila. The length of the cell lens does some weird stuff at close range...bike isn't quite as squashed looking as you might think from the photo.

This is one of the bikes that Mike to NAHBS this past year...painted OS ti, Whisky 7 fork. I've got road tires on it right now (Compass 35's) but it gets Nano 40's on some scrappier wheels for the dirt. 1x Di2 mech...LV dropper post is a new and very welcome addition.

So far, so good! I love it, and of course Mike is a gem of a guy. We made a little family trip to drive to Ashland to pick it up. Did some skiing, drank some beer...good stuff.

If any of you notice it at Lost and Found, come say hello!

I posted this in the No 22 thread as well, but Bloomberg recently did a feature on gravel bikes.

New Merckx Gravel Ride

Just picked up my New Gravel Ride, first impressions: fast on the road and very stable on the all types of dirt road. The clements MSO tires hooked up so well they could easily get you into some high speed trouble, thanks to the disc brakes to scrub off a litttle speed. Overall a real fun bike to ride!
