Nice spot for a photo too - that's a fun ride!

thanks to the incessant praise of compass tires all over this forum - just ordered a set of rat trap pass tires for the bridgestone, now that i have confirmed the fit of the bike.

Oh I adore Alpine Dam, don't remind me. I moved back to my hometown of Chicago where it's flat and cold (and soon to be miserable until April) and I miss those Bay Area climbs dearly ; ___ ;

I feel for you, I was in Chicago during that cold spell before Christmas. Funny the photo I just took was taken on Kent Pump Dam road which insectsects at Alpine Dam. Popular place, huh?

Heheheh, my commuting gear (Giro Alpineduros are amazing at keeping your feet warm btw) is actually a lot warmer than my regular clothing so I'm actually a lot more comfy on the commute as opposed to walking around in street clothes.

Alpine Dam was one of my faves- but I'm madly in love with Hawk Hill. Damnit, I want to move back now.

Hawk Hill and the Headlands Loop is my regular training ride (did it this morning in fact). So nice to be able to ride 10 min from home and be at such a gorgeous place; a place people travel thousands of miles to see. The Bay Area is home to some truly beautiful terrain and much of it can be explored on a bike!

Come on back and visit . . .

I've managed to destroy two Schwalbe Thunder Burts this season. Clearly not enough meat on those tires for me. Had an Ardent Race 2.2 knocking around the parts bin, so threw it on. Perfect fit. The Ellis is pretty much a rigid drop bar MTB now.
