Thank you. I jumped on my bike on the trainer and watched it on TV. Watching youtube on the TV is so nice.

It is interesting hearing about his training and eating. He doesn't seem to get hung up on anything.

He says he loves zone 2 training. Oh, and how many watts is he putting out at his zone 2 heart rate? “320 to 340” on climbs and dropping to 290 to 300 on the flats. Lord almighty. For a 5 hour training ride at 140ish bpm. And weighing under 150 pounds.

(I should clarify — I’m not implying that Pog is doping. Other than his mind boggling numbers, which I know some people see as damning circumstantial evidence, I have seen no evidence that he is. I find him personally likable and I love how he races, so I hope that he is not. I did think it was interesting that he casually mentioned he wouldn’t want his kids to go into cycling. Strange that Attia didn’t ask him why that was.)

I am not grasping why his heart rate was lower in zone 2 when fatigued - can someone please explain? Thanks

Did he comment as to what avg watts VS non fatigued?

I saw this thread and skipped by it. My 82 year friend gets Peter Attia Pod cast notifications and suggested it a was good watch. My assumption of what it was going to be was so wrong.

It’s around 22:00. HR when fatigued is 140-145 and 150-155 when fresh. Right after a discussion of 5 hour zone 2 rides. He then gives a watts range for zone 2 but it’s not clear what level of fatigue this pertains to.

I was chatting with my bike fitter about this interview, and he is of the opinion that pros like Pog routinely pad their numbers a bit to show off during interviews. So I would take all of this with a few grains of salt, perhaps.

I mean... maybe Pogacar pads his numbers, but considering his performances this year, his actual numbers are better than anyone else's by a considerable margin. I'm not sure why he'd need to pad them.

I disagree. I don’t think he is totally hung up on numbers. I don’t think he has an exact answer to some of these questions. He was giving the best answers off the top of his head and they would likely be a little different if asked again in a month.

One of the problems with all of the video and information today people act like everything that is said is exact. It is not. But it is not intentional.
