SRAM Red 1x at Unbound?

This is Sofia Gomez Villafane's Unbound bike posted to Instagram...Is this the new SRAM Red 1x?

It doesn't look like an XX1 SL derailleur or cassette to me, the first 4 cogs look like 1 tooth jumps? It also looks like there are 13 of them, but it's hard to tell. The derailleur also looks like it says Red, but again, hard to tell...

13-speed SRAM 1X! Nice!
Does anyone know if this means a new FHB or can the 13-speed cassette install into the existing XDR FHB?

This makes me very happy. I recently used ekar and loved the 1 steps at higher road speeds.

I love the gearing of my EKAR cassette, the one in the cycling weekly article looks smaller than the current 50 / 52 tooth options, maybe 10-46?

excellent. also probably means that ekar users will have other shimano wheel cassette options for 13 speed.

i'll be curious how these drivetrains handle the big mud out there. as chains get narrower and cog spacing becomes closer, i'd guess that's a bad recipe for mud fouling, but who knows.

UDH only? Will it work with frames that aren’t?

Mixed feelings, UDH isn’t great for metal frames. There are expensive solutions but they are… just not great

A lot more on this here: https://forum.customframeforum.com/t...rd-or-scam/442

I bet it uses the same chain as 12 speed so it has different spacing and it won't be compatible with Campy EKAR. Plus EKAR cassettes don't cost $600 LOL...
