Anyone using?
Good/Bad experiences welcome. Thanks |

I have them in my road shoes now for about 6 weeks. Better than what I've tried so far, but clearly not as good as mu custom orthotics. For the price, they work just fine. The key is trimming the insole correctly. Left foot is good, right needs a tweak. The purchase process was simple, shipping time from Australia was as described. I'd say a B+ on the product.

The G8 pro series with the adjustable arch support seem like a better option. I've used these, but preferred esoles (which don't seem to be available any longer).
Heat moldable might be a good idea if you can get a pro to do them for you. I cant see how they'd work at home.... Heat up insole........stand on insole........foot pronates and arch collapses.......insole is molded into shape of unsupported foot is how I imagine it works, but I've not looked into them so might be way out. |

I had thought about heating them and then riding on a trainer vs the shown method of manual manipulation. Thoughts? |

I started out and have considered the G8 for a while now. Nothing urgent really just curious about them as I always am. I've actually solved much of my issues with foot rolling/stretching etc but do like a great fitting shoe. Thanks |

I like them, but the manufacturer claim they break down after 6 month or so of use.

Which method of heating did you choose?

The process is comparable to heat molding hockey skates. Kinda. Heat up the insole for about 90 seconds, and manipulate to contour of foot. What I did additionally was a quick heat again, slipped into shoe, then put shoe in and tighten up. Do not walk or use shoe for 10 minutes as it takes shape, let cool down. Not perfect, but has worked fairly well for me. Going to order second pair for MTB shoes.

If I heat mold an insert I do not let my foot pronate or let my arch flatten.
Cycling insert support is different from walking /weightbearing support imo. |

Meaning that you mold it and let it cool in a static position?

Practically, I think if you're curious, you need to just give it a try and see.
For example, I know some folks like Bont cycling shoes, which feature a heat moldable footbed. I wanted to like them, and tried two different pair, and no matter the degree ofmolding, I could not get them to be comfortable on my feet. So, I think it's quite individual with heat moldable stuff.

I've also read that for pronation, a heel wedge can be a better solution (which can be added to the G8). |

Yes.And I tend to make sure my arch stays high (minimal pronation). You can always work your way down, not up.

I got mine crazy cheap, otherwise would have gone for the G8 pro. The insole I really like is the discontinued Pearl Izumi FIT. Angry, these are different than the Bonts. The insole of the Bont never really molds, just the tub edges. |

That Lamson guy (on the banner above) offers custom insoles. I have Lamson shoes and the insoles are still like new after a year.
