Campagnolo Athena - Year Make question
I'm looking for some Athena ergopower shifters. Does anyone know the code scheme on the shifters? I'm looking at a pair that have: EP11-AT1C. I'm guessing these were made in 2011?
Thanks for any help! -Sean |

Campagnolo has a lot of information on their products (sales catalogs, spare parts lists, technical documents, installation manuals, etc.) - and not just current products, but going back a few decades.
Typically, Campagnolo part numbers start with a two letter code for the component type, followed by a number and two letter code for the year of introduction and component group. The following letters/numbers usually indicate options/variations (such as colors). Looking at the Spare Parts catalogs, the Athena shifters for 2010 have part number EP10-AT1C, and the Athena shifters for 2011 have part number EP11-AT1C. |

I really hate disagreeing with Peter. But it's not "year" that the '11' means, but generation they were unveiled. Here is a current Chorus 12 Ergopower leverset model part number - EP20-CH12C. And these were just sent to me last week. Yes, he's correct in that they are 2011-2014 models, but it's generation, not year made for he EP11 designation. They were unveiled in 2011, just as the Chorus 12 was unveiled in 2020. SR12 designation is EP19 (unveiled in 2019). The actual manufacturing date is usually on the sticker near the QR code.
