OT: Best places to list a car for sale

Hi all, I am selling an Audi Q5. I've listed it on FB and Craigslist. Can you please tell me where you have successfully listed cars for sale? Thanks.

I sold my Xterra to Driveway.com. They offered more than Carvana.

My Dad recently sold a truck with FB marketplace. He had a good price from Carvana and was going to sell to them, but when he went to schedule the pickup they said his address was too far away. He called and spoke with the customer service dept and they tried to help, but the only option was to take it to their nearest office that was more than 2 hours away. He told them to forget it and listed on FB and sold it 2 days later for $1200 more than Carvana offered.

Autotrader and/or Cargurus is probably best

FB Marketplace is OK, you'll get a lot of time wasters but I have also sold cars there. Just dont expect a lot of adults with money.

In no particular order. Autotrader, cars.com, carfax, cargurus.

I just sold my truck on FB marketplace. And got ~10% more than Carmax and Carvana (Carmax offer was slightly higher).

But I got lucky with a couole who were nice to deal with. Got a few tire kickers and lowballers. I told myself if the couple didn’t take it, I’d just sell to carmax. I sold my minivan to carmax 3 years ago and the process was super easy.

Tom, if it's at all an interesting Q5 - Prestige 3.0, B&O sound, sport seats, diesel, etc, you should offer it for sale on the enthusiast websites.

audiworld.com
audizine.com
quattroworld.com

...but carvana will be your fastest and easiest...

I sold my 2002 low mileage, 1 owner Allroad on carsandbids.com and was very happy with the outcome (Carvana was a joke). I had originally planned on bringatrailer.com but folks here steered me to carsandbids and I'm glad they did.

I just sold my 2022 Mazda MX-5. After trying Facebook Marketplace for two weeks without any serious interest, I listed it on Autotrader. Sold in three days. It is worth the $49 listing fee.

I believe they called it "Highland green" and yes.
Appropriately, it's living its best life surrounded in green in VT.

So I’ve never sold a car, have always either traded in or leased a car. But looking to sell a car now. What’s the best strategy for letting people take it for a test drive? I really don’t want to be in a car with a random person, just give them the keys and let them go? I figure if they are willing to take off with it, I don’t want to be in a car with that person and that’s what insurance is for. Meet at a public place or police station? Any tips would be appreciated. Figure I’ll list it on auto trader and the local Facebook group for the type of car.
