But he should be crushing the riders in the Giro. Geraint Thomas is not exactly a threat.

If I were the guy who got 2nd, I'd rather have that and Tadej's jersey and glasses instead of a gifted win that would always have an asterisk by it. There's absolutley no shame in coming 2nd to Tadej and he'll have that race worn jersey on the wall, and the story, for the rest of his life.

I mean lets face it, another stage for Tadej at ths point means almost nothing to him or his team, but for that guy on a small D2 Italian team, it would have been massive.
Without hyperbole it would have been nothing short of life changing for the rider and likely guarantees the team it's sponsorship for another 5 years.
