I think it is a typo as I have done this 3 times this past month...I set up the alignment of both the high and low stops, then go to the 5th to align the cogs to the d's jockeys. Then I go down to the 4th from bottom and attempt to climb up to the 5th. From there add tension or release via the cable adjuster.

Mine all works but it is amazing how little of adj. is needed without jacking it all up.

If I am wrong I still am getting that good crisp campy changing.

I as well would like to see how others are doing it. What I find is the FD is more critical on alignment with the crank.
