I probably learned this and forgot it but "Repack" was basically referring to having to rebuild the coaster brake extremely frequently?

I am not old enough to remember any of this either although I feel like my first rigid "mountain bike" from about 1989 certainly wasn't that far off this stuff.

That bike was kind of horrifying to ride on NE trails, even the very easy ones, at least for a kid like me that had no idea I should be riding bigger tires and lower pressures, I didn't even have money for different tires of course!

That bike was stolen in 1995, I would get a huge kick out of riding one again just to see how rough it would seem with all the MTB experience I built up.
