Not complaining or arguing. I just want to make a clarification from someone who as actually used the recommendation, because these threads are often used as a reference, even many years from now.

The added section I am recommending is flat wound, and very very short. The amount of "compression" introduced by this is inconsequential.

The tiny cable is under the bar tape. Not sure how that's an issue.

Ok, fair enough. But that definitely does not work with all Yokozuna and all levers. The big advantage for me is the little tiny flex cable allows me to tuck the brake cables under the bar tape, and the Yokozuna always tries to "pop up".
