#1331 we addressed this. The economics of charging stations are pretty bad. I expect Tesla has already placed charging stations in high traffic / high use areas. There economics are just at a utility rate. Each additional charging station with be a lower usage, so lower utility rate.
I also agree with the WSJ article saying Elon is trying to make himself seem indispensable to Tesla before the shareholder vote on his pay package. It seems to me he is bear raiding his own company to get a low stock price to set his next compensation package. In my mind, this fits his character.
