I think that depends on which rack meets your exact needs with the fewest add-on accessories.
IIRC when I bought mine in 2022 the Equip-D was the less expensive option because it required fewer add on purchases to have compatibility with all our bikes.
Anyone buying new needs to be aware their are a lot of gotchas that require going back to 1UP to get more stuff. I tried really hard to plan it all out so I ordered everything correctly and I still had to make a follow on order with a few more items to get the whole setup work. (That was mostly around locks)
Unless you have a bike with tires > 4.5" there are a bit fewer "gotchas" with the Equip-D, which is why the base price seems higher.
