Last week I journeyed down to south central Pennsylvania to join some friends for an annual spring gravel riding/training trip organized by my friend Chet. We rode for three days in various parts of the Michaux State Forest between Gettysburg and Chambersburg. I was on my Lynskey Pro GR. This is a beautiful area of managed forest that hosts several state parks and historic sites, plus many, many miles of well-maintained gravel roads climbing up and down the hills and running along the ridges. It was a challenging but fun three days of gaining spring fitness and exploring this area I had never visited before. Several friends and I had a beautiful VRBO house near Ortanna, PA, that was within an easy drive of our ride starts. I strongly recommend you visit this area if you want some great gravel cycling! Just remember to bring the water and food on your rides, because there are no places out in the woods to re-stock! Our routes included:
Day 1-Caledonia State Park: 24.3 miles/2299 feet/94 ft per mile,
